Knitted Glass Sculpture - "Who Let the Moths Out?"

$3,400.00

Lace knitting is delicate and complicated. Glass doesn’t like to be “delicate and complicated”, and sometimes refuses to comply. That’s what happened here. But the eaten out center reminded me of how moths interact with fiber … and an amusing title came to mind.

This piece uses a stitch pattern called the “Feather and Fan Stitch”.

One-of-a-kind knitted glass sculpture.  Made of Gaffer Glass, 45% lead crystal, Kiln cast using the lost wax casting process.

Note: The purple edge of this piece is made of dichroic glass. So the edge changes color from purple to blue depending upon the light source (daylight vs artificial light). See the photos.
